Great for running a video signal a long distance and avoiding signal loss. I'm running mine thirty meters between the AV cupboard and the garage and the picture is superb. The good thing about Cat5 cable is that it is really cheap, thin and flexible so running it under floor-boards was easy. IR is great as well because it means I can change my channel without shifting out of my chair.
