OUTPUT COMPONENTS

Universal Wand. IR Universal Wand. Can be used in the low power outputs only. The emitter allows for equipment fascia or shelf mounting.
IRUW

Low Power Wand. Can be attached directly to the equipment facia or will work up to 4 metres away. Even when attached directly the equipment will still respond to external IR signals. Only to be used with Keene IR systems.
IRLPW

High Power Wand. Will operate equipment from up to 10 meters away. Can also be used in the IR Distribution Amp low power output sockets if required, but will then only perform as a low power emitter. Not suitable for one-to-one operation.
IRHPW

Side Firing Wand. A short range emitter for direct attachment to the equipment fascia.
IRSFW

Dual Blinking Wands. The single jack plug drives two IR emitter wands. The emitters are extremely tiny (just 9mm across) and are supplied with double sided adhesive pads to affix directly to the equipment fascia. The emitters actually flash red as IR signal is emitted giving visual confirmation that the IR signal was received and transmitted correctly.

1. Paul S 12 Feb 2009  5 stars

I've had one of these over two years now, with the receiver hidden behind the speaker grill of my B&W 603 S2's sending IR down to my SkyHD/AMP & DVD player hidden in a cabinet. FANTASTIC

2. Paul S 13 Mar 2010  5 stars

I went through a number of different options for controling my hidden equipment. I've had this kit set up for about a year now and It's perfect. Highly recommended.

3. Nathan J 27 Jun 2008  4 stars

I currently have this set up in my home. Great!!!

4. Simon W 17 Jul 2009  4 stars

I have 2 of these IR amps. I have been using them for about 5 years now. and find them really good. I am able to have my freeview box and PVR in the loft and control them from my bedroom and living room. The cat 5 cable was great for setting this up. the only thing which I have found to be a problem is not being able to use any more than 1 IR reciver on each IR amp.

1 Matthew J on 05 Aug 2010 asked  :
" Is this suitable for use with a DVD and a SkyBox? And do I need a new universal remote to use it? If so, does it come with a suitable remote?"

Keene replied: Yes it will be fine and you would just use your existing remote.

2 Chris H on 27 Mar 2010 asked  :
"Hello. For a Panasonic Freesat HDD / Blu ray recorder, will I need the standard or wideband version of the receiver. Also, is the unit mains or battery powered. Thanks."

Keene replied: The standard will be fine for use with these devices.

3 Fernando R on 24 Dec 2009 asked  :
" Hi, is this compatible with the power plugs in Portugal? I think is 220v. Im really interested in this product, thanks "

Keene replied: We do list a Eurpoen version of this kit. Order code IRBKITSE.

4 Dan on 14 Dec 2009 asked  :
"I have bought this kit and it works really well apart from one thing. I am using it for a Virgin V+ box (Newer Samsung model) and it it doesn't respond well to repeated inputs. For example, if I am looking at the programme guide and want to scroll down 3 channels I have to leave a delay of about a second between each button press. I have tried repositioning and using multiple IR wands without success. Would a hight powered wand make a difference? If not do you have any ideas of how to improve this? Thanks"

Keene replied: I would possibly try a wideband receiver. Looks to me as if the box is not picking up the short repeat code. It might be too short for a standard receiver. Some remotes only send the actual command at the start when the button is first pressed. After that they send a very short "repeat last code" instruction. Standard IR receiver ics require a code duration of at least 250 uS Please note the wide band receivers can be more difficult to position as by necessity they are open to some interference.

5 Andy on 21 Oct 2009 asked  :
" i want to use your set up for a virgin v+ system and a panasonic sa-ht545 dvd / suround sound system, it mentions that that the v+ system needs your wideband reciever will this also be ok for the panasonic system if it does.. ill have one... "

Keene replied: The wideband receiver is for very early Virgin boxes almost all now use IR. So the standard reciever would be the best option

6 Lee on 19 Oct 2009 asked  :
" will this work with a harmony remote for controlling multiple items including an apple tv"

Keene replied: Yes it will work...

7 Charles F on 10 Sep 2009 asked  :
"I have a Yamaha AV amp that will accept IR via 3.5mm plug. Also have a sony BlueRay, Apple TV and Foxtel IQ2. I assume the last 3 will need IR wands. What receiver do I need for this equipment? The IRSR or IRWBR? Do I need a wand for each device?"

Keene replied: You would need a wand for each device and you could use the standard receiver.

8 John on 06 Jul 2009 asked  :
" Will this work with a BT Vision PVR and a Sony Blu-Ray player?"

Keene replied: You would need the wideband receiver as the standard would not be compatible with BT Vision.

9 Peter on 21 Apr 2009 asked  :
" Hi there, please could you tell me if there\'s a limit to the number of receivers that can be connected to the input? E.g. could I use something like the Belkin RockStar (F8Z274ea), which splits a 3.5mm stereo jack five ways? Many thanks, Peter"

Keene replied: You can have maximum of two receivers.

10 YJ on 09 Apr 2009 asked  :
"Can I connect two IR Receivers to one Distribution Amp Kit. It appears to be able to do so. But I just want to confirm."

Keene replied: You can use two standard receivers but you would need to use the KA109 splitter on the IR in on the amp.

11 Richard on 21 Mar 2009 asked  :
" Will this work on a Virgin V+ HD box?"

Keene replied: The kit will work but you would need to use the wideband receiver (IRWBR) instead of the standard receiver.

12 Paul J on 07 Jan 2009 asked  :
" Will this work with my Samsung Sky HD box?"

Keene replied: Yes this should be fine...

13 Graham B on 06 Nov 2008 asked  :
""KEENE IR DISTRIBUTION AMP KIT (INC STD RECEIVER)" Can I connect the output from the distribution amp directly to the ext ir input on my Arcam av amplifier? This is possible with Xantec products - but at a cost!"

Keene replied: No this would not work.

14 Will H on 28 Sep 2008 asked  :
""KEENE IR DISTRIBUTION AMP KIT (INC STD RECEIVER)" How long are the cables on the output wands and on the input receivers?"

Keene replied: 1.2 metres

15 Mark on 12 Sep 2008 asked  :
" "KEENE IR DISTRIBUTION AMP KIT (INC STD RECEIVER)" I would like this product to control equipment inside a cabinet, with an LCD screen on top. I am a little worried about how the LCD may interfere with the IR Receiver. Would you be able to tell me how to best avoid this?"

Keene replied: As long as the receiver is not placed directly in front or behind the LCD it should be fine.

16 James D on 08 Sep 2008 asked  :
"I have a question about "KEENE IR DISTRIBUTION AMP KIT (INC STD RECEIVER) Hi i have never used this equipment before can you help i would like to hide my sky+ and dvd player in another room and i saw your product on an internet forum if i used youe equipment what would i need to purchase and where can iget tech help regarding cabling and installation many thanks James Ddonegan email jamesmerlin1@yahoo.co.uk"

""KEENE IR DISTRIBUTION AMP KIT (INC STD RECEIVER)" Please can you tell me if this kit works with IRDA. Thank you."
