I've had one of these over two years now, with the receiver hidden behind the speaker grill of my B&W 603 S2's sending IR down to my SkyHD/AMP & DVD player hidden in a cabinet. FANTASTIC

I went through a number of different options for controling my hidden equipment.
I've had this kit set up for about a year now and It's perfect. Highly recommended.
3. Nathan J 27 Jun 2008
I currently have this set up in my home. Great!!!
4. Simon W 17 Jul 2009
I have 2 of these IR amps. I have been using them for about 5 years now. and find them really good.
I am able to have my freeview box and PVR in the loft and control them from my bedroom and living room.
The cat 5 cable was great for setting this up.
the only thing which I have found to be a problem is not being able to use any more than 1 IR reciver on each IR amp.

Is this suitable for use with a DVD and a SkyBox? And do I need a new universal remote to use it? If so, does it come with a suitable remote?"
Keene replied: Yes it will be fine and you would just use your existing remote.

4 Dan on 14 Dec 2009 asked :
"I have bought this kit and it works really well apart from one thing. I am using it for a Virgin V+ box (Newer Samsung model) and it it doesn't respond well to repeated inputs. For example, if I am looking at the programme guide and want to scroll down 3 channels I have to leave a delay of about a second between each button press. I have tried repositioning and using multiple IR wands without success. Would a hight powered wand make a difference? If not do you have any ideas of how to improve this?
Thanks"
Keene replied: I would possibly try a wideband receiver. Looks to me as if the box is not
picking up the short repeat code. It might be too short for a standard
receiver. Some remotes only send the actual command at the start when
the button is first pressed. After that they send a very short "repeat
last code" instruction. Standard IR receiver ics require a code duration
of at least 250 uS
Please note the wide band receivers can be more difficult to
position as by necessity they are open to some interference.

"
i want to use your set up for a virgin v+ system and a panasonic sa-ht545 dvd / suround sound system, it mentions that that the v+ system needs your wideband reciever will this also be ok for the panasonic system if it does.. ill have one... "
Keene replied: The wideband receiver is for very early Virgin boxes almost all now use IR.
So the standard reciever would be the best option

7 Charles F on 10 Sep 2009 asked :
"I have a Yamaha AV amp that will accept IR via 3.5mm plug. Also have a sony BlueRay, Apple TV and Foxtel IQ2. I assume the last 3 will need IR wands. What receiver do I need for this equipment? The IRSR or IRWBR? Do I need a wand for each device?"
Keene replied: You would need a wand for each device and you could use the standard receiver.
8 John on 06 Jul 2009 asked :
" Will this work with a BT Vision PVR and a Sony Blu-Ray player?"
Keene replied: You would need the wideband receiver as the standard would not be compatible with BT Vision.
9 Peter on 21 Apr 2009 asked :
"
Hi there, please could you tell me if there\'s a limit to the number of receivers that can be connected to the input? E.g. could I use something like the Belkin RockStar (F8Z274ea), which splits a 3.5mm stereo jack five ways?
Many thanks,
Peter"
Keene replied: You can have maximum of two receivers.
10 YJ on 09 Apr 2009 asked :

" "KEENE IR DISTRIBUTION AMP KIT (INC STD RECEIVER)"
I would like this product to control equipment inside a cabinet, with an LCD screen on top.
I am a little worried about how the LCD may interfere with the IR Receiver.
Would you be able to tell me how to best avoid this?"
Keene replied:
As long as the receiver is not placed directly in front or behind the LCD it should be fine.
