Review from Andy @ Av-Onics

My Customer is very impressed and the tonal balance is superb, especially with the 8 inch speakers. Two Express wall amps on this install to a Penthouse flat. One feeding open plan lounge/kitchen (pair 8 inch) and paired with master bath (pair 5 inch MR). The second feeding master bed (pair 5.25) paired with one in dressing room (5 inch MR) and one in en-suite (5 inch MR). (Posted on 12/04/2016)

Q: Please could you tell me how to set the KLABXB amplifier to MONO as we have three speakers and wish to have one in each of 3 rooms. regards Roya3a0

A: As the jumpers are left off by default, simply put the jumper over the two pins to activate Mono mode. There should be a jumper included covering one of the two mono pins, if not you can use one of the Bluetooth ID jumpers.
Q: My intention would be to use this in conjunction with a simple Bluetooth transmitter that I would also be purchasing to connect to my existing DAB radio. Would this work? How do you pair the Keene unit with a Bluetooth transmitter when neither of these devices has any facility to view/select/enter the relevant codes?

Posted On: 07/08/2017 By: David

A: The KLABXB does not require a passcode so to pair a Bluetooth transmitter with this then all you would need to do it set the Bluetooth transmitter into pairing mode and make sure the KLABXB is the only Bluetooth enabled device within range so that they can only communicate with each other and once detected by the Bluetooth transmitter the KLABXB should automatically connect.
Q: I would like to purchase 6 units, but..... This is an in wall unit, where do you put the DC Power Supply Adpater? It cannot be plugged in on the outside of the wall MK socket. The mother board of the unit should have DC Power supply built-in so the AC volt wires can be directly connected to the mother board (Example )

A: The DC connection is built into the PCB. The unit requires use of the "laptop" style power supply to convert the DC 15v to AC 100-240V. supplied with the kit. You can use an extension cable such as our (part no. KLDC4) hide this in a cupboard or behind a false wall.
Q: Any issues with mounting this in a loft? I want to use it for ceiling speakers in a bathroom but I don't want it visible at all.

Posted On: 08/02/2017 By: ben

A: This kit would be ideal for that purpose, provided you don't have extremely high ceilings and Bluetooth signal is within range. Since the unit reserves itself in a low power standby mode. Whenever you connect again it will instantly wake up to deliver clear powerful audio with no pass key.
Q: I have just placed an order for a second Blutooth Express in wall amplifier. I received the first unit earlier this week. I have 2 washrooms. Both will have ceiling speakers. One Bluetooth express will be used in one washroom whilst the second unit will be used in the other where a single dual channel speaker by Polk Audio will be mounted in the ceiling. My question is if I do not adjust the Bluetooth settings n leave the default at Keene0 for both amplifiers does it mean that if I power on one unit the second will automatically power on as well. Both washrooms are close n within the Bluetooth range. If both units come on automatically when one unit is activated that's not a problem but I simply wanted some clarification. Thank you.

A: Not quite, both amplifiers will show up in the device list individually with the name Keene0. However there will not be a simple way of identifying which is which in each location without changing the Bluetooth ID.
